What F4 Means
F4 means one of the refrigerator's circulation fans (evaporator or condenser, depending on the model) isn't running at the speed the control board expects.

Listen for the fan running at all when the compressor is active — a fan that's silent or making a grinding/clicking noise confirms a motor problem rather than a sensor glitch.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The evaporator fan sits close to refrigerant lines behind interior panels, and accessing it risks damaging both if you don't know the panel's release points.
- Ice jamming a fan can look identical to a failed motor from the outside — forcing a jammed blade free by hand risks bending it or damaging the motor shaft.
