What LED-PERF Means
LED-PERF means the hood's own performance monitoring has detected that it isn't clearing cooking smoke and odors at the rate expected for its fan setting.
Common Causes of LED-PERF
- Saturated grease or charcoal filter restricting airflow
- Ducting that's partially blocked, kinked, or too long for the installation
- A fan motor losing power output without failing outright
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check and clean both the grease filter and (if present) the charcoal filter first — a saturated filter is the single most common cause of weak extraction.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Ducting problems are often inside the wall or ceiling cavity and aren't something you can inspect or fix without opening finished surfaces.
- A fan motor that's degrading rather than fully failed needs an airflow measurement to confirm — not something most homeowners have the equipment for.
- Persistent poor extraction after filters are clean is a common reason people incorrectly assume the whole unit needs replacing, when it's often a ducting or motor issue that's repairable.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
