Common Problems

Why Won’t My Miele Oven Reach Temperature?

Uneven baking or an oven that won't hit its set temperature is one of the more common Miele oven complaints — and often a routine, affordable repair.

An oven that runs hot, runs cold, or bakes unevenly is frustrating, but on most Miele ovens it’s a fairly routine repair. Here’s what’s usually behind it.

Temperature Sensor Faults Are the Usual Culprit

A failed or drifting temperature sensor is the most common cause of inconsistent baking. The sensor feeds continuous data to the oven’s control electronics — when it drifts even slightly, the oven can run well off the set temperature without any obvious symptom besides inconsistent results.

How to Confirm It’s Not Just the Recipe

Place an independent oven thermometer inside and compare it to the set temperature over a full preheat cycle. A consistent gap points to a sensor issue rather than a one-off baking mishap.

Control Board Faults Are Less Common, But Possible

If the oven won’t heat at all rather than just running inaccurately, a control-board fault may be to blame, especially after a recent power surge or outage.
