What F14 Means
F14 means the dryer isn't heating adequately, so clothes come out of a full cycle still damp.
Common Causes of F14
- Failed heating element
- Blown thermal fuse or thermal cutoff
- Failed heating relay on the control board
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check that the exhaust vent isn't blocked (a full lint trap or a crushed vent hose can sometimes mimic a heating fault by trapping hot, humid air), which is a safe, easy first check.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A blown thermal fuse is a safety component that trips for a reason, and replacing it without finding out why it blew risks the same overheating condition recurring.
