What FE 99 Means
FE 99 means the cooktop's electronics have reached an unsafe internal temperature and the unit has shut down as a protective measure, similar in purpose to ERR 044.
Common Causes of FE 99
- Blocked ventilation beneath or around the cooktop
- Failed cooling fan for the induction electronics
- A genuine internal electronics fault causing excess heat
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn off the cooktop and let it cool completely before attempting to use it again — check that nothing (a towel, a hot pan set down nearby) is blocking ventilation underneath or around the unit.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Repeatedly restarting a cooktop that keeps overheating without addressing the cause risks permanent damage to the induction electronics, which are expensive to replace.
