What F34 Means
F34 means the door lock mechanism isn't engaging properly at the start of a cycle, so the dryer won't start.
Common Causes of F34
- Worn or misaligned door latch mechanism
- Failed door lock switch/sensor
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check that the door latches firmly and that nothing (lint buildup, a worn strike plate) is preventing it from fully closing.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Bypassing a door lock interlock to force a cycle to start defeats a safety feature meant to keep the drum enclosed while hot and spinning.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
