What F60 Means
F60 on a Miele speed oven is the power electronics reporting its own temperature as too high, and the cause Miele names is insufficient ducting — the air path that carries heat away from the electronics is not doing its job. The remedy runs through the ducting, then the cooling fan connectors, then the fan itself.
Common Causes of F60
- Ducting obstructed or incorrectly assembled
- Cooling fan connector failing
- Cooling fan failed
- Appliance installed in a housing without the specified clearances
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Look at the ventilation openings around the appliance and in the cabinetry above and below it. A trim panel refitted wrongly, a towel over the vent, or a cabinet packed tight behind the appliance all restrict the duct Miele’s documentation is referring to.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Miele’s sequence checks the ducting before the fan, because an installation problem cannot be cured by a new part.
- The cooling fan is tested in service mode to see whether it actually runs, which the front panel does not show.
- A combination appliance whose electronics are running hot is generating microwave energy in the same housing, and that is not a condition to leave unattended.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
