A Miele washer that completes a cycle but leaves clothes soaked, without spinning, almost always points to one of a small number of causes.
Step 1: Check for an Unbalanced Load
Modern washers deliberately skip or reduce spin speed when the load is significantly unbalanced, as a safety measure. Redistribute a bunched-up load and run a spin-only cycle to see if it resolves on its own.
Step 2: Confirm It’s Not a Drainage Issue
Washers generally won’t spin with standing water still in the drum. If water hasn’t drained, the spin failure is a downstream symptom of a drainage fault, not a separate spin-motor issue.
Step 3: Check the Door Lock
Front-load washers require a confirmed, locked door before the drum will spin at speed. A failing door-lock sensor can prevent spin even when the door is physically closed.
Step 4: When It’s the Motor or Belt
