What F8 Means
F8 is a door-open alarm — the refrigerator has detected a door left ajar longer than its built-in grace period and is alerting you before internal temperature is affected.
Common Causes of F8
- Door left open or not fully closed
- Something inside blocking the door from sealing
- Worn or damaged door seal/gasket no longer holding the door shut
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check that the door is fully closing and latching, and that nothing inside (a tall container, an overfilled shelf) is preventing a full seal.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A door that looks closed but isn't sealing properly due to a worn gasket needs the gasket assessed and replaced correctly, which affects the door's alignment if done incorrectly.
