What F56 Means
F56 means the drive motor cut out mid-cycle because it drew more current than its protection circuit allows, typically during a high-speed spin.
Common Causes of F56
- An unbalanced or oversized load straining the motor beyond normal limits
- A failing motor drawing excess current even under normal load
- A failed motor control board misreading load conditions
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the load size and balance — an unusually heavy, unbalanced, or waterlogged load can occasionally trigger a real overload without a true motor problem.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Repeated overload trips risk permanently damaging motor windings if the underlying cause — mechanical or electrical — isn't identified and addressed.
