What F43 Means
F43 means the dryer has detected that it is not the machine its electronics think it is. Miele’s documentation is direct about the cause: the wrong control/power electronic has been installed, so hardware and software do not match, and the remedy is to check the material number of the fitted board.
Common Causes of F43
- Control/power electronics fitted from a different model
- Correct board fitted but not configured for this machine
- A second-hand or substitute board used
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Nothing here is adjustable from the controls. What is decisive is whether the dryer has recently had a board replaced — if it has, this code is telling you the part number was wrong or the setup step was skipped, and that belongs with whoever fitted it.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Identifying the right board means reading material numbers against the dryer’s own data plate, which is how Miele’s remedy is written.
- A dryer running on the wrong model profile can apply heating and drum control settings meant for a different machine, and that is a safety matter in an appliance built around heat.
- This is the specific reason Miele separates F43 from F41 — the board is not failing, it is the wrong one.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
