What F99 Means
F99 appears while a memory program is being recorded. Miele’s service documentation describes it plainly: the maximum time allowed for a memory program has been exceeded, so the recording stops and that zone switches off. The remedy column says no action is required and the cooktop stays fully usable.
Common Causes of F99
- Memory program recording ran past its permitted length
- Recording left running unintentionally while cooking continued
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Simply start the recording again and keep it inside the time the appliance allows. If you are trying to capture a long, slow simmer, record the pattern rather than the whole cook — the function is not meant to store an unlimited sequence.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- There is nothing here for a technician to repair — Miele’s own documentation records no remedy beyond starting again.
- If F99 keeps appearing on short recordings that should be well inside the limit, that is a different problem and worth raising, but the code itself is not an error.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

Code meanings can change between control generations. Before acting on a code, match the full model number on your appliance's rating label against the manual for that model. We are an independent repair service, not affiliated with Miele & Cie. KG.
