What FE 43 Means
FE 43 is the right-hand counterpart of FE 41: the NTC on the heat sink of the right power electronics module has failed, and Miele’s documented remedy is to replace that module. FE 44 appears under the same cause.
Common Causes of FE 43
- Heat-sink NTC on the right power electronics failed
- Extended high-power induction use without adequate airflow under the hob
- Wiring or contact at the sensor degraded by repeated heat cycling
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Before the visit, work out which zones misbehave and which are fine, and note whether the problem appears only after long high-power cooking. That pattern helps confirm the module has been running hot rather than simply failing cold.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The sensor is integral to the module, so the repair is a board replacement to a specific procedure rather than a part swap on a bench.
- Working under a fitted hob means lying in a cabinet beneath a heavy glass panel that is bonded to its frame — awkward enough that the appliance is usually lifted out properly.
- With no heat-sink reading, the cooktop cannot throttle itself when its own electronics run hot, and that protection is worth restoring rather than working around.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
