Miele Washer

Miele W4842

Model # W4842

The W4842 was the last and best-equipped of Miele’s Touchtronic washers before the W1 generation replaced them, and it is the one we are asked about most often when owners are deciding whether to repair or replace. Mechanically these are strong machines with a long life left in them at ten or twelve years old. The parts that typically need attention by then – brushes, door lock, pump – are all modest.

FAQ

Miele W4842 FAQ

Frequently yes. The expensive parts on these machines are the drum, tub and motor, and those generally outlast the wear items by a wide margin.

Communication between the control board and the display module is the most common casualty, which shows as a machine that powers up but will not respond.
