What F235 Means
F235 is a communication failure on the internal bus between the control electronics and the power electronics. Miele’s documentation gives three causes: failed bus hardware on one of the two boards, a short circuit in the harness between them, and electromagnetic interference from elsewhere.
Common Causes of F235
- Bus hardware on the control or power electronics failed
- Short circuit in the wiring harness between the two boards
- Electromagnetic interference from a nearby appliance or supply
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Isolate the oven at the breaker for a few minutes and bring it back up. Also take note of anything recently installed nearby — an induction hob, an inverter, an LED driver — because interference is one of the three causes Miele names, and a technician cannot guess at your kitchen’s history.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- An interference-driven problem disappears the moment the appliance is on a test bench, so it has to be chased in the kitchen it actually happens in.
- A shorted harness can damage whichever board is replaced first, so the wiring has to be cleared before new electronics go in.
- Miele boards are model-specific and need to be set up after fitting, so an untested swap can leave the oven no better than it was.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
