What F32 Means
F32 means the door lock mechanism didn't engage properly at the start of a self-clean (pyrolytic) cycle — the control board checks the lock's position switch and stops the cycle if it doesn't confirm within about 20 seconds.
Common Causes of F32
- Failed door lock motor or solenoid
- Door lock position switch misalignment
- Obstruction preventing the lock from fully engaging
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Don't force the door. Power-cycle at the breaker and allow the oven to fully cool, which resolves many one-off lockout glitches before you assume a mechanical problem.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Forcing the door during a failed lock sequence risks damaging the lock mechanism further.
- Confirming whether it's the motor, the solenoid, or a switch misalignment requires testing the lock assembly directly, not just a visual check.
- The door lock is a safety interlock for the very high pyrolytic cleaning temperature, and bypassing it isn't something to attempt without a proper diagnosis.
