What F141 Means
F141, shown as F 01 41, is the first of Miele’s door-open warnings for the refrigerator section: the door has been standing open for fifteen minutes. The documented remedy is exactly what it sounds like — close the door.
Common Causes of F141
- Door genuinely left open while loading or unloading
- An item on a shelf or in a door bin holding the door off its seal
- Drawer not pushed fully back
- Door switch or seal not registering a closed door
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Close the door and check why it did not close on its own. Most of the time it is a bottle or a tall container on a shelf edge, a drawer not pushed fully home, or a shopping delivery being loaded in stages with the door propped.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the door is plainly shut and the warning still appears, the door switch or the seal is to blame and that does need attention.
- A seal that has hardened or torn lets warm, damp air in continuously, which shows up later as frost and as a compressor that never stops.
- On a built-in door the alignment is shared with the furniture front, so adjusting it is a job that has to leave the kitchen frontage square as well.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
