What F145 Means
F145, shown as F 01 45, is the freezer door-open warning at half an hour. Thirty minutes is long enough for the outer packs to start softening and long enough for a noticeable amount of moisture to have been drawn into the compartment.
Common Causes of F145
- Freezer door or drawer left open for an extended period
- Drawer runner jammed so a drawer sits proud of its housing
- Seal deformed or iced so the door springs back open
- Door switch not registering closure
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Close the door, then check the items nearest the front rather than the ones buried in the middle. Anything that has softened at the edges should be used soon rather than left to refreeze into a poorer version of itself.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A drawer that will not run home is a mechanical problem, and forcing it usually breaks the runner rather than fixing the seal.
- Half an hour of humid air produces frost that keeps the door from sealing, so the same warning tends to repeat until the ice is properly cleared.
- If nobody left it open, the appliance is misreading the door — and a stuck switch on a freezer is worth attending to before the next long problem goes unnoticed.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
