What F01 Means
F01 indicates a door lock fault — the washer's electronic door lock isn't engaging or releasing properly, a safety interlock that prevents the drum from spinning with the door unsecured.
Common Causes of F01
- Debris trapped in the door seal preventing full closure
- Failed door lock solenoid
- Door lock switch misalignment
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Make sure the door is pushed fully closed until you hear it latch, and check the door seal (gasket) for anything trapped in the fold that could be preventing a full seal.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the door won't release even after the drum is confirmed empty, forcing it can damage the lock mechanism and the door itself.
- Confirming whether it's the solenoid or a switch misalignment requires testing the lock assembly electrically, not just a visual check.
- The door lock is a genuine safety interlock, and bypassing or forcing it defeats the protection it's designed to provide against the drum spinning with the door open.
