What F09 Means
F09 means the washer's overflow protection system has detected a water level higher than it should be and has stopped the cycle and shut the inlet valve as a precaution against flooding.
Common Causes of F09
- A stuck-open water inlet valve continuing to fill past the set point
- A failed water-level pressure sensor
- A genuine leak feeding water into the drum unexpectedly

Turn off the water supply valves behind the washer and check the floor for visible water — do not attempt to restart the cycle until the cause is found.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If this is a stuck-open valve rather than a sensor fault, restarting the cycle risks an immediate overfill and water damage to your home.
- Distinguishing a failed pressure sensor from a genuine leak requires inspecting components that aren't safe to access with the machine running.
- This is the washer's own flood-prevention system working as intended, and repeatedly resetting it to make the code go away defeats that protection.
