Miele Dishwasher F-Code Guide: What Those Numbers Actually Mean

Miele dishwashers report faults through a numbered F-code system — here's how to read what your display is actually telling you.

Miele dishwashers communicate faults through a numbered F-code system rather than vague warning lights, which means the display is usually giving you real diagnostic information, not just a generic “something’s wrong” signal.

Water Supply and Drainage Codes

A meaningful share of F-codes relate to water intake or drainage — the machine detecting that water either isn’t entering or isn’t leaving the tub within its expected time window. These often trace back to a blocked filter, a kinked hose, or a closed supply valve.

Heating Circuit Codes

Other codes point to the heating circuit failing to reach or hold temperature within the expected window, which can stem from a failed heating element or a control-board issue reading the circuit incorrectly.

What to Do When a Code Appears

Note the exact code and, if possible, power-cycle the unit once before calling — some transient codes clear after a reset, while persistent ones point to a genuine component fault.

When to Call

If a code returns after a reset and basic filter/hose checks, it’s time for a diagnostic. Visit our dishwasher repair page to book a visit.
