What F1 Means
F1 on a Miele induction cooktop means the touch-control light/sensor strip can't calibrate correctly, which can make touch response unreliable.
Common Causes of F1
- Moisture or grease film on the touch control surface
- An object resting on or near the control strip during power-up
- Failed touch-control sensor strip
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Wipe the entire control strip dry and clean — moisture, grease film, or a stray object resting near the controls is a common, easily-fixed trigger.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If cleaning the surface doesn't resolve it, the sensor strip itself needs testing and replacement, which involves working underneath the cooktop's glass surface.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
