What F190 Means
F190 is the result Miele’s valve test writes when water intake is otherwise fine but one of the intake valves has been found defective — a narrower and more specific finding than the general intake error F94.
Common Causes of F190
- One intake valve electrically or mechanically failed
- Valve coil open-circuited
- Wiring to the affected valve damaged
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Nothing to do at the front panel. If you have already had F94 and now see F190, that sequence is useful information and worth passing on, because it suggests the appliance has already run its own valve test and narrowed the problem down.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Replacing a water valve means breaking and remaking a pressurised joint inside the cabinet, where a slow weep goes unnoticed until it has soaked the carcass.
- The oven names a defective valve but not which one, and the wrong valve replaced leaves the code exactly where it was.
- The valve sits close to the appliance’s mains wiring, so the water side and the electrical side have to be isolated before the job starts.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
