What F05 Means
F05 indicates a short circuit in the oven's main temperature sensor — the sensor is reading an electrically implausible value, which the control board interprets as a wiring or part problem rather than a real temperature.
Common Causes of F05
- Failed temperature sensor (short circuit)
- Damaged or pinched sensor wiring
- Moisture intrusion into the sensor connector
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
There isn't a safe at-home test for this — sensor circuit testing requires a multimeter on a fully de-energized oven, which is technician work.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Testing the sensor circuit correctly requires a multimeter on a fully de-energized oven — not something to check with the oven plugged in.
- Confirming whether it's the sensor itself, damaged wiring, or moisture intrusion at the connector needs the cavity partially opened to inspect safely.
- Replacing the sensor when the real cause is pinched wiring means the same short returns after reassembly.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
