🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Try a full power reset by unplugging the unit for two minutes — if F10 returns immediately, the compressor fault is confirmed rather than a temporary glitch.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The compressor runs on dedicated high-current wiring, and testing or replacing components near it live is a real shock hazard.
- Confirming whether it's the compressor motor itself or just the start relay/capacitor requires electrical testing — replacing the wrong one means paying for a full compressor swap that wasn't needed.
- The compressor is part of the sealed refrigerant system, and opening that circuit without EPA-certified equipment is both illegal and risks a refrigerant leak.
