What F15 Means
F15 is listed in Miele’s G-series problem summary as a water intake problem on the hot-water connection. It applies to machines plumbed to a hot supply rather than cold, and means the hot intake did not deliver what the program expected.
Common Causes of F15
- Hot-water isolating valve closed or partly closed
- Household hot water not reaching the machine at the expected temperature or rate
- Inlet filter in the hot hose clogged with scale or grit
- Intake valve on the hot connection failing
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Run the hot tap nearest the dishwasher for a minute and see how long it takes to actually run hot, and check that the isolating valve on the dishwasher’s hot feed is fully open. A long dead leg of pipework or a half-closed valve produces exactly this complaint.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Distinguishing a slow household hot supply from a failing intake valve means measuring flow at the machine, not at the tap.
- The inlet filter sits inside the hose coupling under mains pressure, so it is taken out and refitted with the supply isolated — otherwise the first sign of a mistake is water in the cabinet.
- A machine plumbed to hot water when it was set up for cold, or the reverse, produces intake problems that no new part will cure; the appliance settings have to be checked too.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
