What F87 Means
F87 means the dishwasher has fallen back to maximum wash and rinse times as a built-in safety precaution, usually because a sensor it would normally rely on to shorten the cycle isn't reporting correctly.
Common Causes of F87
- A turbidity (soil-level) sensor failing to report correctly
- A related sensor circuit fault triggering the fallback safety mode
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
The dishwasher should still complete a cycle and clean dishes reasonably well in this mode, just more slowly than usual — note whether cycles are taking noticeably longer than before.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- This fallback mode is intentionally conservative to protect wash quality, but the underlying sensor fault causing it should still be diagnosed rather than left indefinitely.
