What F32 Means
F32 is listed in Miele’s G-series problem summary as the door lock not closing. The machine has asked the lock to engage at the start of a program and has not received confirmation that it did, so the cycle will not proceed.
Common Causes of F32
- Load or cutlery tray fouling the door as it closes
- Door seal displaced or perished so the door never reaches its stop
- Lock mechanism worn or seized
- Latch or strike plate out of alignment after a door adjustment
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the door’s path before assuming the lock has failed: an over-loaded upper basket, a tall item on the cutlery tray, or a length of the seal that has folded over will all stop the door closing the last few millimetres. Push the door firmly shut and listen for the lock to engage.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- This is a safety interlock: it exists so the machine cannot fill and heat with the door free to swing open, and defeating it defeats that.
- Alignment and a failed lock produce the identical complaint, and adjusting a Miele door without knowing its correct setting can leave it dragging on the furniture front.
- Integrated models carry a furniture door on the appliance door, so alignment work has to keep both the machine and the kitchen frontage square.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
